Neighbourhoods Green

Groundwork is currently delivering a regional housing project with two of the largest housing associations in London, Notting Hill Housing and Peabody Trust.

Neighbourhoods Green is a research and development project that focuses on the management, design and use of open spaces within housing estates. It calls on the sector to examine current practice in this area, sharing knowledge and experience and addressing the constraints faced by housing managers in developing their open spaces. Groundwork sits on the steering group for the project and has also delivered various aspects of the work programme over the past two years. Most recently this has included a piece of in-depth research that focuses on the experience of individual Registered Social Landlords (RSLs), looking at practices, policies and issues faced in relation to the management, design and use of open spaces. This will culminate in a research report containing a series of recommendations to the sector, which is due to be published in summer 2006.
